Rush Rush Rush

Being very quick again today.

162. World Almanac Library of the Middle Ages: Feudalism and Village Life in the Middle Ages by Mercedes Padrino

Well written, very informative with very specifically chosen pictures, and with good focus on both lordly and peasant life.

There’s a double picture with a man weaving on one side, and what the caption describe as spinning on the other, except what he’s using looks like a pole lathe to me. The same mechanism for creating spin might well have been used for both at the time, but I don’t see a whole lot of thread in the picture, and there are what look like chippings and sawdust under the pole.

There wasn’t anything else that seemed odd to my limited knowledge of the period and its culture.
