The upside…

… of being offline for two weeks is that I read lots and got a good way through the shawl I finally started as a gift for the doula who significantly helped my labour go as well as it did. The downside was being out of touch with nearly everyone non-local, including the bloggers I like to read and the posts I wanted to write. (It’s especially annoying to have missed seeing a friend who was in the country for a few days.)

Anyway, I’ll aim to get progress pictures of the shawl up tomorrow. For now, here are the books I’m adding to the list:

  • Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. n
  • Our Babies, Ourselves by Meredith Small. n
  • Sky Burial by Xinran. n
  • The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula Le Guin. n
  • The Fire Pony by Rodman Philbrick. n
  • מספרים (Misparim – Numbers). l,n
  • ברוזונים (Barvezonim – Ducklings). l,n
  • Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes by Mem Fox and Helen Oxenbury. l,n
  • My Home. l,n
  • Fred’s Fire Engine. l,n
  • Evelyn by Evelyn Doyle. n
  • The Family Bed by Tine Thevenin. n
  • 97 Ways to Make a Baby Laugh by Jack Moore. n
  • Caps, Hats, Socks & Mittens: A Book About the Four Seasons by Louise Borden. l,n
  • World War: Upsetting the Balance by Harry Turtledove. n
  • Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens. a,n
  • Homeward Bound by Harry Turtledove. n
